Get to know us

2015: Johannes and Christian founded Container xChange

xChange was started as a service of The Boston Consulting Group, the world’s leading strategy consultants in transportation and logistics. Working with the biggest carriers world-wide, they found out that a neutral online platform would save the industry up to $20b a year.

2016: We launched the MVP of xChange

The excel-based MVP, where we collected supply and demand of carriers exploded! With Jan (our CTO) on board, we decided to develop the MVP into a real product and built the very first version of xChange

2017: First 100 customers use xChange!

Successful transactions kept on increasing on xChange and with the implementation of  Smart Search and Tracking, we crossed the mark of 100 members on xChange.

New investors and continuous growth

Backed by established investors, we spun-off from the Boston Consulting Group and started xChange as an own company in late 2017. We grew to 20 colleagues in Hamburg and even opened an office in Indonesia.

2018: We doubled our customer base 

More than 250 companies use xChange now as their platform for container logistics and we keep on growing! The team now is at 32 colleagues from 17 countries.
